First in Virginia.
Rooted ever since.

Backroom Brewery began as a back room — literally — on a working herb farm at the northern gateway to the Shenandoah Valley. It became Virginia's first farm brewery, and it never stopped being a farm.

The Years Between

The barn goes up, the medals come in

The timber-framed Big Barn rises, hundreds of weddings and gatherings follow, and Virginia Craft Beer Magazine sends three gold medals to Middletown.

Today

A new chapter, the same ground

New stewards carry the farm forward — with plans growing as steadily as the hops. Same fields, same barn, same welcome.

The mission, in one line: exceptional beer, memorable experiences, and the agricultural heritage of the Shenandoah Valley — one pint, one celebration, and one harvest at a time.
